The International Center for Environmental Health and Development (ICEHD) is proud to be at the heart of the Africa Climate Justice Movement (ACJM), a vibrant feminist coalition advancing gender, climate, and environmental justice across the continent.

As an Anchor Partner and a member of the Executive Subcommittee of the ACJM, ICEHD plays a strategic leadership role in shaping the movement’s governance, partnerships, and collective vision. ICEHD’s Executive Director currently serves as the Chairperson of ACJM, ensuring that the organization's expertise and commitment to intersectional justice inform every layer of the movement’s structure and strategy.

About the Africa Climate Justice Movement (ACJM)

Formed in 2022 through landmark convenings, including foundational gatherings in Arusha and a pivotal convergence in Accra, Ghana in 2023, the ACJM brings together African eco-feminists, grassroots women-led organizations, and environmental justice advocates. Supported by the Global Fund for Women, ACJM operates under a movement-led approach (MLA), empowering feminist actors to identify and implement their own solutions to the climate crisis—especially for women and girls disproportionately affected by its impacts.

ICEHD’s Role in Advancing the ACJM Agenda

Within ACJM, ICEHD leads efforts in:
